Set it up together
Explain that legitimate companies do not unexpectedly call and ask for screen control. Confirm the computer owner agrees, run the initial scan, review anything already installed, and choose a trusted Guardian.
Keep the recovery code offline
Print the recovery code and store it somewhere the scam caller cannot see. Lexyte support will never ask for the Security PIN or recovery code.
Use a family safety phrase
Choose a phrase only close family knows. If a caller claims to be a relative or technician, hang up and call the person back using a known number.
When a suspicious caller is already connected
Disconnect the call. Select Emergency Lockdown if it is safe to do so. Do not follow the caller’s instructions. From another trusted device, contact the bank if financial information may have been exposed, change important passwords, and consider professional malware assistance.
Respect and limitations
Lexyte reduces exposure to recognized remote-control software and selected built-in Windows features. It does not replace antivirus and cannot guarantee protection against every unknown tool, malware, social-engineering attempt, or action by a local administrator.
